Kentucky’s
Bishops Release Responses to
Gubernatorial
Questionnaire
Frankfort, KY (October 14,
2003) – Kentucky’s Roman Catholic bishops have released the responses of
gubernatorial candidates to a broad range of questions about important public
policy issues the winner of the November election will face.
Fr. Patrick Delahanty, Interim
Director of the Catholic Conference of Kentucky, explained, “We hope Catholic
voters will use this instrument to make an informed decision when they go to the
polls.” The bishops of Kentucky join in urging all Catholics to be active in
public life by becoming informed and responsible participants in the political
process. To be, in other words, faithful citizens.
The responses were sent to each
parish with a letter encouraging pastors and other parish leaders to distribute
this information to parishioners. This information is for educational purposes
only and is not an endorsement of individual candidates or any political party.
The
Catholic Conference of Kentucky is the public policy arm of the state’s four
Roman Catholic Bishops.
