Father Ronald Ketteler serves as Director of Ecumenism and
of Continuing Education of Priests, Episcopal Liaison to
the diocesan newspaper, the Messenger. He is also former Chair of the Humanities Division at
Thomas More College. These columns appeared originally in the Messenger.
Reverend
John S. Rausch is a priest in the Glenmary order and director of the Office
of Peace and Justice for the Diocese of Lexington, KY. He is a syndicated
columnist whose articles are published in diocesan newspapers
throughout the United States.
Fr. John Rausch is the recipient of
the Pax Christi USA Pope Paul VI Teacher of Peace Award for 2007. The Pope Paul
VI Teacher of Peace Award is given annually to the person who, in the opinion of
Pax Christi, gives outstanding witness to the theme of Pope Paul VI’s World Day
of Peace message, “To reach peace, teach peace.” Pax Christi began giving this

Sr. Mary Schmuck is a member of the Sisters of Mercy and has specialized in
working on behalf of poor persons for many years. She currently serves in the
rural area of the Archdiocese of Louisville as a staff member of the Parish
Social Ministry Department of Catholic Charities. Many of her articles have
appeared in other Kentucky publications.
