Mission

Opportunities for Life (OFL) is a pastoral ministry of the laity, created by Kentucky's Catholic bishops and supported by concerned Christians, to offer confidential, non-judgmental, emotional support and help to persons affected by untimely pregnancies.

Lay persons who involve themselves in this ministry respond to the Baptismal call to service, extend God's love and compassion through a statewide network of community based volunteers by offering a formal prayer network to pray specifically for the needs of callers; telephone support through the toll-free 24 hour, statewide hotline; one-on-one, and ongoing support and help in local communities.

By offering hope and healing, Opportunities for Life seeks to promote life affirming decisions that reaffirm our conviction that all human life is sacred from conception to resurrection.

A Prayer For Women Experiencing An Untimely Pregnancy...

May the woman - your daughter and our sister - find emotional and spiritual sustenance throughout her community and her family. And if she knows no community or has no family, may a strong one form around her, hold her up, take her in, love her to wholeness and full participation even as the community becomes more nearly whole in doing so. For we are all parents to each other, brothers and sisters to each other, Christ to each other. Nothing less!

Amen.
