Practicing Global Solidarity Back to General Assembly
Back to 2006 General Assembly
Protecting Human Life
Promoting
Family Life Pursuing Social
Justice
"September 11 has given us a new sense of vulnerability. However, we must be
careful not to define our security primarily in military terms. Our nation must
join with others in addressing policies and problems that provide fertile ground
in which terrorism can thrive. No injustice legitimizes the horror we have
experienced. But a more just world will be a more peaceful world."
Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility
State governments are less likely to address global issues, but when our
General Assembly proposes legislation of this nature, the Catholic Conference
will work to pass, amend, or defeat it.
